Acorn ICF is a SuperForm ICF Dealer in the Candle Lake area that offers a wide variety of SuperForm ICF block configurations to meet any building requirement in Saskatchewan
Acorn ICF is nestled in the heart of lake country in Candle Lake, Saskatchewan and is operated by full time residents, Ray Sperling and Amy Smith. The motivation to start the business came from the challenges of building in Northern Saskatchewan, including trade and material shortages. We decided to stock a line of SuperForm ICF blocks and rigid insulation at Candle Lake to help address these building challenges in our area.
ICF is a superior build material in the Lakelands due to the high risk of wildland fires and structural damage from downed trees. With a 4-hour fire protection rating, the decision to build with SuperForm ICF is a no brainer.
SuperForm ICF is also ‘do it yourself’ (DIY) friendly. So if you’re a homeowner wanting to build your own home, or a builder/contractor who wants to learn how to stack ICF, checkout SuperForm ICF installation video series below on how to install. ICF is used mainly for foundation work, but it can also be used from footing to soffit.
Our services at Acorn ICF include material supply only, on-site consultation, or complete ICF installation.
About ICF
ICF is quickly becoming the construction method of choice for all forms of construction because ICF offers homeowners and building owners with the following benefits:
- Energy Efficiency: ICF structures are energy-efficient because they provide better R-value performance than conventional wood wall systems, resulting in energy savings of up to 60% per year on the occupants next heating and cooling bill.
- Disaster-Resilience: The concrete in ICF buildings is disaster resilient and can be engineered for all Mother Nature has to offer including fire, hurricanes, and tornadoes.
- Unmatched Personal Comfort: The foam and concrete structure of ICFs means the homes and buildings are quiet, draft-free, and do not enable mold.
